The cooking times specified are intended as a
guide. The actual cooking time depends on the
quality and te mperature of the food before cooking,
and the weight and thickness of the food to be
c o o ke d .
‒
Alway s preheat the appliance. This will provide the
b e s t c o o k i n g r e s u l t s .
The cooking times specified refer to a preheated
a p p l i a n c e . A d d a p p rox i m a te l y 5 m i n u te s to t h e s e
times if you are placing food into the appliance
without preheating it.
‒
The figures given refer to average quantities of food
for four people. If you wish to prepare a larger
quantity of food, you should allow for a longer
c o o k i n g t i m e .
‒
Use the cookware specified. If you use other
cookware, the cooking times may be longer or
s h o r te r.
‒
If you have not made a par ticular dish before, use
t h e s h o r te s t t i m e s p e c i f i e d to s t a r t w i t h . I f
necessar y, you can alway s cook the food for longer.

Open the cooking compar tment door of the
preheated oven for a shor t time only and do not
t a ke too long to place your food inside the
a p p l i a n c e .

W h e n u s i n g o n l y o n e c o o k i n g c o n t a i n e r, p l a c e i t i n
the appliance at the second level from the bottom.
‒
W h e n s te a m i n g , d e f r o s t i n g , d o u g h p rov i n g a n d
reheating, you can use up to three rack levels at a
time (rack levels 2, 3 and 4 from the bottom). This
will not cause any transfer of flavour s. This allow s
fish, ve get ables and desser ts to be prepared at the
same time. Howeve r, the specified cooking times
may need to be ex tended for large quantities of
fo o d .

O n l y o n e l eve l c a n b e u s e d fo r b a k i n g ; t h e s e c o n d
level from the bottom is designated for this.

Do not allow the food to come into cont act with the
cooking compar tment, grease filter or back panel of
the oven.
‒
T h e c o m b i - s te a m ove n m u s t b e a b l e to s h u t
properly. To ensure that this is possible, keep the
s e a l s u r fa c e s c l e a n a t a l l t i m e s .

Do not place too many items close to gether on wire
r a c k s o r c o n t a i n e r s . T h i s i s to a l l ow o p t i m a l s te a m
circulation.

If you wish to prepare food using steam and the
a p p l i a n c e h a s b e e n h e a te d to ove r 1 0 0 ° C ( fo r
ex a m p l e b e c a u s e i t h a s j u s t b e e n u s e d fo r b a k i n g ) ,
a l l ow t h e a p p l i a n c e to c o o l d ow n b e fo r e s te a m i n g
your food. Other wise, the high te mperature will
c a u s e yo u r fo o d to d r y o u t .

Ve get ables are prepared more gently in steam than
i n b o i l i n g wa te r. T h e i r t a s te , c o l o r a n d c o n s i s te n c y
are preser ved better. V i t amins and ingredients that
are soluble in water are not washed out. As the
s te a m ove n o p e r a te s w i t h o u t p r e s s u r e a t o n l y
100°C, food is prepared considerably more gently
than in a pressure cooker, for ex ample.

U s e t h e p e r fo r a te d c o o k i n g c o n t a i n e r to s te a m
ve get ables, sliding it into the second level from
below. Inser t the unper fo rated cooking cont ainer
under it. You can collect the veget able juice and
use it as the base for a sauce or a ve get able broth.

Blanch ve get ables for 8 - 10 minutes in the
preheated appliance. If ve get ables or fruits are not
s e r ve d s t r a i g h t away, p l a c e t h e m i n i c e wa te r to
prevent simmering in the residual heat.
