6 . Dat a and Fax Calls
Your phone can funct ion as a fax/modem when
connect ed t o your PC or lapt op comput er via t he opt ional
DLR- 3 Dat a Cable (available t hrough your local Nokia
dealer). You must also have t he appropriat e fax or dat a
soft ware inst alled and configured t o send and receive
dat a or faxes t hrough your phone.
Can I receive a data or fax call while a voice call
is in progress?
Yes. Your phone will display eit her Data call or Fax call,
depending on t he type of incoming call. If no cable is
connected, t he phone will display Fax call, connect data
cable or Data call, connect data cable. If you have Caller
ID, t he caller’s name or number will also be displayed.
You must first t erminat e t he voice call, t hen launch t he
appropriat e dat a or fax soft ware and allow t he soft ware
t o accept t he incoming call.
Can I receive other calls while a data or fax call
is in progress?
No. The caller will receive a busy signal.
Can I place a voice call while a data or fax call is
in progress?
No. If a voice call is at t empt ed while a dat a or fax call is
in progress, t he phone will display End data call? End t he
dat a or fax call from your comput er’s soft ware, or press
Back t o ret urn t o t he dat a or fax call in progress.
Getting started
Make sure your phone is connect ed t o your comput er via
t he opt ional DLR- 3 Dat a Cable and your comput er
recognizes t he new hardware.
