NAM selection
The Number Assignment Module (NAM) is t he phone’s
st orage locat ion cont aining t he assigned phone
number(s) and ot her syst em informat ion. This
informat ion is ent ered by your service provider when
programming your phone when your phone is first
act ivat ed.
In most syst ems, your phone can be act ivat ed in up t o 2
different service areas (e.g. one in Dallas and anot her in
Chicago), each giving your phone a different phone
number or account .
Only one number can be act ive at a t ime. When you select
a phone number, you’re also select ing which syst em
you’re using as your home syst em (
). The first phone number displayed wit h t his menu
is t he current ly select ed number.
Not e: It may not be necessary t o have t wo NAMs for your phone if
your service provider has service or roaming agreement s for each
area in which you wish t o use your phone. Cont act your service
provider for det ails.
Selecting the NAM for your phone

use and press OK.
Not e: You need at least one act ive number t o make calls. You can
not change from one NAM t o anot her during a call.
NAM update
The Number Assignment Module (NAM) updat e feat ure
may appear in your phone. It allows you t o easily act ivat e
or react ivat e your phone wit hout having t o go t o your
service provider.
In some cases, when you t ry t o connect t o your service
provider, t he following message may appear on t he
display before t he call is init iat ed.
