If your phone displays Not charging, charging is 
suspended. Check t hat  t he bat t ery is connect ed only t o an 
approved charging device. If t he bat t ery is very hot  or 
cold, wait  for a while; charging will aut omat ically resume 
aft er t he bat t ery is rest ored t o it s normal operat ing 
t emperat ure. If charging st ill fails, cont act  your dealer. 

When a charger is not in use, disconnect  it from the power 
source. Do not leave t he bat tery connected t o a charger for 
longer t han a week, since overcharging may short en it s life. 

Important : If left  unused, a fully charged bat t ery will 
discharge it self over t ime.

When is a good time to charge?

Act ually, you can charge anyt ime. If you have a NiMH 
bat t ery, you should allow it  t o complet ely discharge once 
in a while.

When your phone beeps once and displays Battery low, 
you only have a couple of minut es of t alk t ime remaining. 
The repet it ion rat e of t hese bat t ery- low warnings depend 
on t he remaining bat t ery capacit y and t he bat t ery 
condit ion. These warnings are more frequent  when you’re 
in a call.

Not e: The phone will not  give you t he warning t one under cert ain 
condit ions. See “Warning and game t ones” on page 75.

Once all t he power has drained from your bat t ery, you’ll 
hear t hree beeps wit h t he message Recharge battery on 
your display. At  t his point , your phone will swit ch it self 
off and you’ll need t o recharge your bat t ery.

When is charging complete?

When t he charge indicat ors st op scrolling, your 
phone is considered fully charged. However, a 
slight  increase in charge may occur if your phone 
is left  connect ed t o t he charger for a couple more 
hours. This is called “t rickle charge” or 
“maint enance charge.”
