Elec tronic flame monitoring 
with automatic re - ignition

If a burner’s gas flame is ex tin -
guished accidentally, it is reignit-
ed immediately, and should the 
automatic re - ignition of the flame 
fail, the gas supply for all burn -
ers is interrupted immediately: 
Ma ximum safet y due to the 
principle of ionisation.

Elec tronic temperature 
control

Precise temperature control in 
ovens, Combi - steam ovens and 
Combi - microwave  ovens  pre -
vents temperature peaks which 
might impair the cooking of 
delicate dishes. With cooling 
appliances, precise temperature 
set ting enables longer storage 
times. Operation of all set tings 
and special functions is via the 
keyboard, and the temperature 
is displayed digitally.

Energy consumption

The energy consumption of a 
cooling appliance is determined 
according to the German DIN 
EN 153 standard, at 220 V/50 Hz. 
The annual energy consumption 
is shown, as is the energy 
consumption per 10 0 litres of 
net volume per day. The lat ter 
enables appliances of various 
sizes to be compared; devia -
tions may occur during ever yday 
operation.

Energy label

This is a Europe - wide code for 
the energy ef ficiency class 
and provides information about 
the energy consumption of ap -
pli ances. The dif ferent classes 
in dicate how economical a par-
ticular appliance is compared 

with the overall average. Par ti -
cularly economical appliances 
are graded as energy ef ficiency 
classes A and B – or even A++ 
and A+ for cooling appliances 
and freezers. For dishwashers, 
there is a fur ther classifica -
tion alongside the energy ef fi -
ciency class – the so - called 
Euro label rating also the clean -
ing ef ficiency and dr ying ef fi -
ciency of dif ferent appliances. 
All Gaggenau dishwashers bear 
the A A A label. This is awarded 
to appliances that are par ticular-
ly energy - ef ficient while deliver -
ing exceptional cleaning and  dr y -
ing per formance.

Fan unit

Downdraf t ventilation units and 
ventilation hoods are operated 
via a separate fan. Fan units can 
be installed, depending on the 
construction t ype, in kitchen 
furniture, in another adjoining 
room, in the cellar, lof t or out-
side, on the wall or roof. As in 
the case of an integrated fan, 
the functions are controlled via 
the control panel of the ventila -
tion unit. The remote fan units 
can be supplied for air ex trac -
tion or recirculation. Flat ducts 
that connect the remote fan unit 
and ventilation system with one 
another in a space - saving and 
ef ficient manner are available as 
accessories.

Fas t cooling

Similar in function and ef fect to 
the fast freezing function. Auto -
matic fast cooling generates the 
ma ximum chilling power, there -
by minimising the warming up 
of items already stored in the 
refrigerator when new items are 
added. The appliance auto ma t-
ically rever ts to the standard 
mode.

Fas t freezing

This ma ximum power set ting is 
for the quick freezing of unfrozen 
items, while also preventing al -
ready frozen items from warming 
up when new items are added to 
the compar tment. What’s more, 
fast freezing has a beneficial im -
pact on the durabilit y and qual -
it y of frozen food af ter thawing. 
This set ting ensures that the 
cell structure of frozen food is 
not damaged by the freezing 
process, thereby preser ving the 
food’s taste and freshness. The 
appliance automatically rever ts 
to the standard mode.

Fas t ignition

Press the knob on the gas 
cook top, turn to the desired 
set ting and release – the elec -
tronic s immediately ignite the 
flame and keep it burning with -
out the user having to keep the 
knob pressed.

Fixed inlet and outlet  water 
connec tion

During installation, the Combi -
steam oven is connected direct-
ly to the water inlet and outlet. 
This means that fresh water is 
always available for all cooking 
tasks and that you don’t have to 
fill and empt y a water tank.

Flexible hinge

S ome of the fully integrated 
dishwa sher s are equipped 
with a flexible hinge. The hinge 
prevents collisions bet ween the 
furniture panel and the appliance 
plinth and enables, for example, 
installation in tall units with a 
one - piece furniture panel.
