Ac tivated charcoal air filter

In order to keep cooling appli -
ances and wine climate c abi -
nets free of odour s, the air 
circulates through an antibacte -
rial activated charcoal air filter 
that remove s and c apture s 
odour par ticles. In ventilation 
systems with recirculation, the 
filter removes odours from the 
cooking steam before the air is 
recirculated into the kitchen.

Ac tual temperature display

Precise temperature control and 
monitoring are especially im -
por tant when preparing cer tain 
dishes. The actual temperature 
display allows you to check the 
temperature in the cooking com -
par tment whenever you want. 
If, for example, you turn down the 
temperature, it enables you to 
see when the new desired tem -
perature has been reached in 
order to get ma ximum benefit 
from residual heat. Not even all 
commercial appliances have 
this unique Gaggenau feature, 
which is highly appreciated by 
discerning home chefs.

Air cleaning catalys t

A catalyst in the oven’s interior 
rids the air of grease par ticles 
and odours. This means that the 
kitchen no longer smells of in -
tensive oven odours. The heated 

catalyst also delivers optimal 
per formance at low tem pe ra -
tures. A unique Gaggenau 
feature.

Air ex trac tion/air circulation

Most Gaggenau ventilation 
hoods are available as air ex-
traction or air circulation appli -
ances. In both cases the air, 
which contains grease par ticles 
and odours, passes through 
a grease filter that protects the 
inside of the hood and the 
ex traction pipes from deposits. 
On the air ex traction version, 
the pre - filtered air is conducted 
through the wall into the open 
air or into a ventilation shaf t. On 
the recirculation version, the 
odours are absorbed by an addi -
tional active charcoal filter so 
that nothing but odour- free air is 
conducted back into the kitchen. 
To ensure optimum ef ficiency, 
the charcoal filter should be 
changed t wice a year.

Aluminium door racks

These adjustable racks of fer 
plent y of storage space and 
have a variet y of uses. Made 
from solid anodised aluminium, 
they are par ticularly hygienic 
and easy to clean, while also 
preventing odour transfer from 
food.

Anti - clump ice sys tem

This prevents ice cubes from 
clumping together in the Vario 
RF 413 and RF 463 freezers. 
This involves moving the ice 
cubes at regular inter vals.

Appliance cover

All 3 8 and 28 cm - wide cook tops 
in the Vario cook tops series can 
be fit ted with a cover. This is 
available as a special accessor y 
for all appliances with the excep -
tion of the electric grill, which 
includes the cover in its scope 
of deliver y. The covers of the 
40 0 series are made of stainless 
steel; those of the 20 0 series 
are available in stainless steel 
(ribbed) and aluminium (smooth).

Aqua sensor

This reduces the consumption 
of fresh water without compro -
mising cleaning results. With 
normal soiling, up to six litres of 
water can be saved, depending 
on the programme chosen. The 
Aqua sensor detects whether 
the water is clean enough for the 
nex t wash cycle. If so, the water 
change procedure is skipped. 
Regardless of how cloudy the 
water is, the system also detects 
small dir t par ticles. To do so, it 
uses an infrared sensor that 
detects fats, oils and proteins, 
as well as an additional green 
light sen sor that recognises 
substances such as tea residue 
or bits of spinach.

Aquas top

A multi - active and net work-
independent system of protec -
tion devices prevents damage 
caused by water. With all our 
dishwashers, users are no 
longer required to manually turn 
the water tap on/of f (which is 
other wise necessar y). Even if
