6) Open the ground coffee hopper and add a cleaning tablet.
For cleaning, only use original cleaning tablets for dissolving grease.
It is available for purchase at specialised electrical appliance stores
or contact the manufacturer directly.
7) Close the ground coffee hopper and press the clean button.
8) As soon as the here shown icon appears on the display, press the
clean button.
9) Cleaning is taking place.
10 Empty the drip tray
11) Slide the drip tray back.
12) As soon as cleaning is fi nished, the message READY will appear on
the display.

Descaling the espresso machine
•
Everyday use of the espresso machine may result in scale deposits inside the
espresso machine. The degree of scaling may differ depending on the hardness
of the water used. Only use original descaling agents purchased at specialised
electrical appliances stores.

Descaling agents contain acid compounds, which may irritate eyes and skin, so
make sure you follow the safety instructions provided by the manufacturer on
the packaging of the given agent. In the even that the agent enters the eyes or
comes into contact with the skin, rinse the affected part of the body with large
amounts of water.

During the descaling process and cleaning, remove the water fi lter from the water tank. This will prevent its
possible damage.
•
Dissolve the descaling agent in cold water and then pour it into the water tank. A fully dissolved descaling
agent is much better at dissolving limescale deposits in the espresso machine.
•
The total descaling process takes approximately 30 minutes.
•
Interrupting the descaling process could damage the espresso machine. Therefore, do not interrupt the
descaling process once it is started.
Limescale deposits accumulate inside the espresso machine during its
use. If they reach a certain level, the messages «NEEDS DESCALE» and
«PRESS RINSE» will appear on the display. In such a case, press the
clean button and start the descaling mode.
In the program settings menu, use the turn dial to set the value
«MAINTENANCE» on the display; confi rm the selection by pressing the
dial button.
