PART 6: CLEANING AND MAINTAINING THE APPLIANCE
Cleaning the espresso machine before use
•
In this chapter you will learn information about cleaning and maintenance of
this espresso machine.
•
Everyday maintenance of the espresso machine will not only ensure optimal
fl avour of the brewed coffee but it will also extend its lifetime.
•
We recommend normal cleaning of the espresso machine to be done every day.
If the cleaning indicator light is not lit, press the clean button before brewing
coffee. This will preheat the brewing unit and the internal lines of the espresso
machine, which will result in optimal fl avour of the brewed coffee.
•
Cleaning can only be started when the message «READY» is lit on the display.
1) If the message «READY» is lit on the display and the cleaning indicator
light is not lit, press the clean button and start the cleaning process of the
brewing unit and coffee spout.
2) The espresso machine cleaning process cannot be interrupted, after it
fi nishes, the espresso machine will automatically return to the «READY»
state.
Cleaning the brewing unit
•
After a longer period of use, ground coffee sediments will accumulate in the brewing unit. They can be
removed by cleaning the brewing unit.
•
The brewing unit cleaning process takes approximately 10 minutes.
1) After entering the program settings menu, use the turn dial to set
the value «MAINTENANCE» on the display; confi rm the selection by
pressing the dial button.
2) Use the turn dial to set the value «CLEAN BREW UNIT» on the
display; confi rm the selection by pressing the clean button.
3) Pull out and empty the drip tray of the espresso machine. Water may
drip into it during cleaning.
4) Slide the drip tray back.
5) The brewing unit is being cleaned.
