Scope of supply

The  garden  pump  is  supplied  ready-to-use,  with

filter, sleeve, suction hose, and operating instruc-

tions.

TRANSPORT

Transport the engine only when the fuel tank

is empty.
Always  transport  the  engine  with  the  spark

plug  upwards,  otherwise  the  following  may

occur:

Generation of smoke

➯

Starting difficulties

➯

Soot on spark plug

CHECKS BEFORE OPERATION

WARNING!

Always  perform  a  visual  check  prior  to

start-up.  Do  not  operate  the  machine  if

the operating and/or fastening parts are

loose, damaged, or worn.

Check the general state of the engine

Check  the  exterior  and  underside  of  the  en-

gine for indications of an oil or petrol leak.
Indications of damage
All nuts and bolts must be tight.
All guards and covers are fitted.
Fuel level
Engine oil level
Air filter insert

ASSEMBLY

Setting up the equipment

1. Prepare a flat and firm location.
2. Erect  the  unit  horizontally  and  safe  from  the

risk of flooding.

The unit must be protected from the rain

and direct water jets.

Connecting the suction line (fig. 6)

1. Select the length of the suction line in such a

way that the pump cannot run dry. The suction

line  must  always  be  at  least  30  cm  beneath

the surface of the water.

2. Connect the suction line (6). In doing so, make

sure  that  the  connection  is  tight,  but  do  not

damage the thread.

We recommend using flexible lines at the

pump inlet (6). This ensures that mecha-

nical  pressure  or  tension  cannot  be  ex-

erted on the pump.

3. Always  lay  the  suction  line  with  an  upward

gradient.

Fitting the pressure line (fig. 5)

1. Fit the pressure line. In doing so, make sure

that the connection is tight, but do not damage

the thread.

2. Open all shut-off devices (valves, spray nozz-

les, water cock) in the pressure line.

FILLING WITH FUEL

Safety

WARNING!
Danger of fire!

 Petrol is highly inflamma-

ble!

Use only appropriate containers to store pe-

trol.
Refuel outdoors only
Do not smoke when refuelling
Do not open the tank cap when the engine is

running or hot.
Renew the tank or tank cap if damaged.
Always close the tank lid firmly
If petrol has leaked out:

Do not start the engine
Avoid start attempts
Clean the machine

CAUTION!

Fill with oil before starting up.

Filling with oil

1. Unscrew the oil dipstick (8), and insert the fil-

ling aid.

2. Fill with oil.
3. Remove  the  oil  filling  nozzle,  and  screw  the

oil dipstick (8) back in.

Oil recommendations

Engine oil is a decisive factor on the performance

and lifetime of the engine. Use an engine oil which

fulfils the requirements for API service class SF or

higher (or equivalent).
Check  the  API  service  label  on  the  oil  container

in order to ensure that the letters SF or those of a

higher (or equivalent) class are present.
