• COMMANDER is set to OFF in the menu settings.

Set it to ON. (p. 68)

• Something is blocking the infrared rays.

Remove the obstacle.

• The batteries inserted in the battery holder with the + –

polarities incorrectly matching the + – marks.

Insert the batteries with the correct polarity. (p. 105)

• The batteries are dead.

Insert new ones. (p. 105)

• Reset the date and time. (p. 21)

• Moisture condensation has occurred.

Remove the cassette and leave your camcorder for at least 1
hour to acclimatize. (p. 91)

• Some troubles have occurred in your camcorder.

Remove the cassette and insert it again, then operate your
camcorder.

• Disconnect the connecting plate of the AC adaptor or remove

the battery, then reconnect it in about 1 minute. Turn the power
on (p. 14, 19). If the functions still do not work, press the RESET
button using a sharp-pointed object. (If you press the RESET
button, all the settings including the date and time return to the

• The AC power adaptor is disconnected.

No funciton works though the power
is on.

You cannot charge the battery pack
installed to your camcorder.
