TRANSLATION OF THE ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
HOT AIR GUN
51G519
CAUTION: BEFORE USING THE POWER TOOL READ THIS MANUAL
CAREFULLY AND KEEP IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
DETAILED SAFETY REGULATIONS
SPECIFIC REGULATIONS REGARDING SAFE USE OF HOT AIR GUN
This equipment is not designed for use by persons (including
children) with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, persons
with insufficient experience or knowledge about device, unless under
supervision or acting in accordance with instructions regarding use
of equipment provided by persons responsible for their safety. Pay
attention to children, do not allow to play with the equipment.
Careless handling of the hot air gun may cause fire, therefore:
– be careful when using the hot air gun in places, where flammable
materials are present;
– do not direct stream of hot air onto the same place for a long time;
– do not use hot air gun in explosive atmosphere;
– bear in mind that heat can transfer to flammable materials that are
beyond field of view;
– leave the hot air gun to cool down after use and before storing;
– do not leave the hot air gun unattended.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES
•
Use protective goggles when operating the hot air gun.
•
Do not obstruct air intake holes or outlet nozzle hole of the hot air gun.
•
Do not touch nozzle of the hot air gun during operation or just after.
•
Keep the hot air gun handle clean, do not allow traces of oil or grease.
•
When working outdoors do not use hot air gun when it is raining or
in high humidity.
•
Do not put the hot air gun away when it is switched on.
•
Do not direct flow of hot air from the gun at one point for a long time.
•
Always switch off the hot air gun with its switch before removing the
power cord plug from mains socket.
•
Remove particles of paint deposited on the nozzle of hot air gun from
time to time to prevent spontaneous ignition.
•
Prior to commencing any tasks with hot air gun, always ensure that
the surface to be heated is not flammable.
•
Removing oil paint that contains lead can be carried out in rooms with
good ventilation only. Vapours of such paints are poisonous. Use mask
for protection of respiratory system.
•
When using hot air gun do not use agents such as turpentine, solvents
or petrol.
•
Do not touch hot parts of the gun just after its operation has been
finished. Burns resulting from negligence of these rules constitute
main hazard when working with hot air gun.
•
Never point operating hot air gun at any person or animal (e.g. to dry
hair). Hot air gun produces much higher temperature than hair dryer
does.
CAUTION! This device is designed to operate indoors.
The design is assumed to be safe, protection measures and
additional safety systems are used, nevertheless there is always a
small risk of operational injuries.
CONSTRUCTION AND USE
Hot air gun is a hand-held power tool with insulation class II. Double
insulation of the hot air gun and integrated protection against
overheating (thermal switch) ensure safe operation. It is equipped
with AC motor that drives small turbine inside, which forces air to
flow through heating element. Stream of air is then directed through
outlet nozzle towards processed surface. Design of the hot air gun
allows to use one of the tempeerature ranges to adjust air temperature
for requirements of the task. Hot air gun is designed for paint coating
removal, heating up stuck threaded joints to aid in unscrewing and to
heat up frozen water piping, locks, padlocks etc. Hot air gun can also
be used for drying wooden elements before mechanical processing,
using heat-shrinkable sleeves, soldering and for other tasks that require
heating up with the use of stream of dry, hot air.
Use the power tool according to the manufacturer’s instructions only.

PREPARATION FOR OPERATION
CHOOSING APPROPRIATE OUTLET NOZZLE
Depending on the needs and work performed, appropriate nozzle can
be attached by sliding it onto the outlet nozzle (
1
). Any additional nozzle
can be fixed in the axis of hot air gun at any angle from the range of 0
o
to 360
o
(
fig. A
). Use of additional nozzles allows to do jobs easier and
with greater accuracy.
• Flat nozzle
– it can protect surfaces (e.g. window glass) against
overheating by directing stream of hot air. It is especially useful for
paint coating removal.
• Protector nozzle
– ensures uniform distribution of hot air over small
areas.
• Reducing nozzle
– directs stream of hot air to allow working in
corners and soldering.
• Reflector nozzle
– it is used for soldering, shaping plastic pipes,
defrosting water piping and shrinking heat-shrinkable sleeves.
Do not obstruct air intake holes (2) as it may cause power tool
overheating.
OPERATION / SETTINGS
SWITCHING ON / SWITCHING OFF
The mains voltage must match the voltage on the rating plate of the
hot air gun.
Hot air gun features three position switch (
3
) and allows to adjust
temperature and air flow parameters according to the needs for work at
hand (
fig. B
). Set the switch to appropriate position.
Position 0
– switched off
Position I
– temperature 350
0
C
Position II
– temperature 550
0
C
Hot air gun is very easy to use. Three position switch (
3
) allows to
adjust air stream temperature to the work at hand. Wait for a while
after switching the hot air gun on to allow stream of air to reach desired
temperature.
Small emission of smoke is normal when switching the hot air gun
for the first time.
PROTECTION AGAINST OVERHEATING
Do not put hot air gun nozzle too close to processed material, as
it could cause reflection of hot air stream from the surface and
activation of overheating protection.
Choose distance between nozzle and processed object depending
on its material and additional nozzle being used. Determine the most
suitable temperature by trials and errors, therefore start operation at low
temperature range.
In case of overheating (thermal overloading), when thermal
protection activates, heaters inside hot air gun are switched off
automatically, but blower continues to operate. When the tool cools
down to working temperature setting, heating will be switched on
automatically.
