PI N code
To prevent mi suse of your SIM card, e.g. i f i t i s l ost
or stol en, you can sel ect a PIN code to be entered
each ti me you sw i tch on the phone.
The PIN code i s a 4 to 8-di gi t number of your
ow n choi ce, w hi ch you can change any ti me
you l i ke.
If you enter an i nval i d PIN code three ti mes, your
SIM card w i l l be bl ocked and to unbl ock i t you
have to enter the PIN U nbl ocki ng Key (PU K) code
suppl i ed by your netw ork operator. Thi s proce-
dure prevents unauthori zed person from w orki ng
out your PIN code by repeatedl y enteri ng di fferent
combi nati ons of numbers.
The di spl ay w i l l i nform you how many tri es you
have l eft before the SIM card i s bl ocked. If you
enter an i nval i d PU K code 10 ti mes, your SIM
card w i l l be permanentl y bl ocked and you have
to contact your netw ork operator to have i t un-
bl ocked.
Some SIM cards (not phase 1) use a PIN 2 code for
accessi ng speci al functi ons. Contact your netw ork
operator for further i nformati on on PU K2 and
PIN 2 codes.
