Care and maintenance
n
You can arrange with your dealer to have
a regular safety inspection carried out or to
have a maintenance contract. Please seek
advice on this.
High-pressure pump
n
Check the oil level once a week. If the oil
is milky (water in oil), contact customer ser-
vice immediately.
n
Clean the water inlet strainer once
a month.
n
Change the oil once a year or every
500 operating hours:
n
Unscrew the oil drain plug and dispose wa-
ste oil only at authorised collection points
(Protection of the environment).
n
When the oil has completely drained,
screw in the oil drain plug; slowly pour in
fresh oil up to the “Max.” mark on the oil
tank (HD 801 B) (air bubbles must escape)
or top up to the middle of the inspection
glass (HD 1040 B, 1050 B, 1050 DE).

Clean the filter at the detergent suction-
hose as required.
Engine
n
If servicing the engine, comply with the
operating manual of the engine manufactu-
rer.
High-pressure hose
n
Do not damage the high-pressure hose
(risk of bursting). Replace damaged high-
pressure hose immediately.
Frost protection
n
If there is water in the unit during sub-zero
temperatures, the unit may be damaged.
During winter store the unit a heated room
or drain completely or flush thoroughly with
anti-freeze.
n
Empty the cleaner:
– Unscrew water supply hose and high-
pressure hose from the cleaner.
– Leave the cleaner running until the
pump and lines have emptied
(max. 1 minute).
n
Antifreeze:
For longer intervals between operations,
pumping antifreeze through the cleaner is
to be recommended. By this means also
you obtain a certain protection against cor-
rosion.
Troubleshooting
Cleaner does not work
n
Follow the instructions in the operating ma-
nual supplied by the engine manufacturer.
n
Seek the help of Customer Service if ne-
cessary.
HD 801 B Cage, HD 1040 B Cage only:
n
The safety thermostat on the high-pressure
pump has switched off after operating in
circulating mode for a prolonged period.
Leave the unit to cool down, then switch on
again (see Operation).
