1. Press the function button to select “TAPE”
2. Press the right corner of cassette holder to open it.
3. Load a cassette
After loading a cassette, push the holder back into position to close.
4. Press the ▶ button to begin playback.
5. Press the ■ to stop playback at anytime.
When the end of the tape has been reached, automatic stop will be acti-
vated.
Note:
• It is recommended to use normal tape (TYPE I)
• Endless tape cannot be used.
• Do not use 100 minute (or longer) tapes, they may jam in the mecha-
nism.
Fast Forward and rewind
Press >> to fast forward or << to rewind the tape. Press ■ to stop when
the desired location has been reached.
Recording
Press “REc” twice to activate recording in Disc or Tuner mode to record
sound from disc or radio broadcast.
When recording from a disc, recording pauses when “NEXT” or “PREVI-
OUS” is pressed, press “REc” once to continue recording.
Note:
• Recording with a TYPE I tape. Using TYPE II or III tape may not be able to
record or erase them correctly.
• Recording level is set automatically.
• Recording are unaffected by changes to SOUND, BASS model or VOL-
UmE.
• To protect a recorded tape from being accidentally erased, remove the
tab as shown. To record the again, cover the tab with adhesive tape.
Tape counter
Tape counter appears on LcD display in 4 digit numbers every time when
TAPE model is used.
To reset tape counter to “0000” press “PRE/ENT”. It will also be reset
when the lid is opened.
You can choose one of the ive SOUND models.
a) <▂ ▂ ▂ ▂ ▂> Flat: without emphasis on any frequency range
b) <▇ ▄ ▂ ▄ ▇> Disco: with emphasis on both high and low tones.
c) <▇ ▄ ▂ ▂ ▂> Pop: with emphasis on high tone.
d) <▂ ▂ ▂ ▄ ▇> Rock: with emphasis on low tone.
e) <▂ ▄ ▇ ▄ ▂> Vocal: with emphasis on mid tones.
In addition to Sound modes, BASS adds heavy bass effect.
