Your Refrig era tor is b uilt to Interna tiona l sa fety sta n-
d a rd s (EN60) a nd ha s b een a wa rd ed the Europ ea n
a p p rova l m a rk (IMQ) for c onform ity with UK elec tric a l
sa fety req uirem ents. It a lso m eets the EC sta nd a rd s on
the p revention a nd elim ina tion of rea d io interferenc e
(EC d irec tive 87/308 - 02.06.89).

This a p p lia nc e is d esig ned to b e used ind oors a nd
und er no c irc um sta nc es should it b e insta lled outsid e
even if p rotec ted b y a roof. Lea ving the a p p lia nc e
exp osed to the ra in a nd whether is exc eed ing ly d a n-
g erous.
2.
The a p p lia nc e should b e used only b y a d ults a nd
exc lusively for storing food stuffs in c om p lia nc e with the
instruc tions p rovid ed in this m a nua l. Und er no c irc um -
sta nc es should c hild ren b e a llowed to op era te, or
ta m p er with, this p rod uc t.

Do not a ttem p t to op era te or ha nd le this a p p lia nc e
when b a refoot, or with wet ha nd s or feet.

It is hig hly rec om m end ed tha t you d o not op era te
this a p p lia nc e b y c onnec ting it to the p ower sup p ly
with extensions or m ultip le soc ket p lug s. If the refrig era -
tor ha s b een insta lled b etween two c a b inets, m a ke
sure tha t the sup p ly c ord is not d a ng erously c rim p ed
or tra p p ed b enea th a hea vy ob jec t.

Never p ull the c a b le or the a p p lia nc e to rem ove
the p lug from the soc ket; this is exc eed ing ly d a ng er-
ous.

Do not touc h the interna l c ooling elem ents, esp ec ia lly if
your ha nd s a re wet, sinc e you c ould b urn or hurt yourself.

Before d oing a ny c lea ning , d isc onnec t the a p p lia nc e
from the elec tric ity (b y p ulling out the p lug or turning off the
g enera l switc h in your hom e); it is not suffic ient to p la c e the
tem p era ture reg ula tion knob “
” to c ut off the p ower.

Before d isp osing of your old a p p lia nc e, rem em b er to
b rea k or rem ove the loc k a s a sa fety m ea sure to p rotec t
c hild ren who m ig ht loc k them selves insid e the a p p lia nc e
when p la ying . In a d d ition, if the a p p lia nc e is a new one with
a loc k, keep the key out of the rea c h of sm a ll c hild ren.

If your a p p lia nc e is not op era ting p rop erly, rea d the
c ha p ter entitled , “Troub le Shooting ”, whic h m ig ht help you to
resolve the p rob lem , b efore c a lling a n a fter-sa les servic e
c enter. Do not a ttem p t to rep a ir the a p p lia nc e b y ta m p er-
ing with the interna l c om p onents.

If the p ower sup p ly c ord m ust b e rep la c ed , p lea se c on-
ta c t one of our Custom er Servic e Centers. In som e c a ses,
the c onnec tions a re m a d e using sp ec ia l term ina ls a nd in
others a sp ec ia l tool m ust b e used to a c c ess the c onnec -
tions.

Do not use elec tric a p p lia nc es insid e the c om p a rtm ent
for food stora g e, if these a re not those rec om m end ed b y
the m a nufa c turer.
12.
At the end of the func tiona l life of your a p p lia nc e –
c ontaining c yc lop entane g a s in the insula tion foa m a nd
g a s R134a (tetra p htoretha ne) in the refrig era tion c irc uit – the
la tter should m a d e sa fe b efore b eing sent to the d um p . For
this op era tion, p lea se c onta c t your d ea ler or the Loc a l Or-
g a nisa tion in c ha rg e of wa ste d isp osa l.
Proper insta lla tion of the applia nce is essentia l to
ensure the best a nd most efficient performa nce of
your a pplia nce.
Ventila tion
The c om p ressor a nd c ond enser g enera te hea t a nd ,
therefore, need to b e ventila ted p rop erly. Room s with
less tha n p erfec t ventila tion a re not very suited for in-
sta lla tion of the a p p lia nc e. Therefore, it should b e in-
sta lled in a room with
a n op ening (wind ow or Frenc h wind ow) tha t p rovid es
the a p p rop ria te a m ount of a ir re-c irc ula tion. It is a lso
im p orta nt tha t the room should not b e too hum id .
During insta lla tion, m a ke sure not to c over or ob struc t
the g ra tes tha t a llow p rop er ventila tion of the a p p li-
a nc e. For p rop er ventila tion of the a p p lia nc e, you
m ust lea ve:
- a sp a c e of a t lea st 10 c m b etween the top p a rt a nd
a ny c a b inets a b ove it;
- a sp a c e of a t lea st 5 c m b etween the sid es of the
a p p lia nc e a nd a ny a d ja c ent c a b inets/wa lls.
Awa y from Hea t
Avoid p ositioning the a p p lia nc e in a p la c e where it is
d irec tly exp osed to sunlig ht or nea r a n oven, c ook top or the
like.
Levelling
The floor should b e p erfec tly levelled ; if not, you c a n a d just
the feet a t the front of the a p p lia nc e.
Ea rthing
Before m a king the elec tric a l c onnec tion, c hec k tha t the
volta g e shown on the d a ta p la te, tha t you will find on the
b ottom left ha nd sid e of the a p p lia nc e next to the c risp er,
c orresp ond s to tha t of your m a ins a nd tha t the soc ket is
ea rthed in c onform ity with a ll c urrent elec tric a l reg ula tions. If
the system is not ea rthed , the m a nufa c turer d ec lines a ll li-
a b ility for c onseq uent d a m a g es or losses. Do not use
a d a p ters or m ultip le soc kets.
Check the power loa d
The elec tric a l soc ket m ust sup p ort the m a xim um p ower loa d
of the a p p lia nc e shown on the d a ta p la te (on the b ottom
left hand sid e of the a p p lia nc e next to the c risp er).
Before plugging the a pplia nce to the ma ins
Set the a p p lia nc e up rig ht a nd wa it a t lea st 3 hours b efore
p lug g ing the a p p lia nc e into the m a ins to ensure p rop er p er-
form a nc e.
