Ice t rays
This new concept of ice t rays is an exclusive M erloni pat ent .
The f act t hat t hey are sit uat ed on t he t op part of t he f reezer
draw ers ensures great er ergonomics and cleanliness and
leaves more room f ree inside t he draw ers : t he ice no longer
comes int o cont act w it h t he f ood placed inside t he f reezer
compartment; furthermore, the dripping of the water during
f illing is avoided (a lid t o cover up t he hole af t er f illing w it h
w at er is also provided).
Inst ruct ions f or use (Fig. 5)
Fill up t he t ray w it h w at er via t he special hole up t o t he level
indicat ed (M AX WATER LEVEL), t aking care not t o exceed
it : insert ing more w at er t han is necessary w ill lead t o t he
f ormat ion of ice w hich could obst ruct t he exit of t he ice
cubes.
If you have used an excessive amount of w at er, you w ill
have t o w ait unt il t he ice has melt ed, empt y out t he t ray
and re-f ill it w it h w at er.
Once you have f illed t he ice t ray up w it h w at er t hrough t he
hole indicat ed, t urn it by 90 °. Thanks t o t he connect ed
compart ment s, t he w at er f ills up t he special shapes, af t er
w hich you can cover t he hole up w it h t he special cap and
p l ace t h e i ce t r ay i n t h e i n n er d o o r o f t h e f reezer
compart ment .
Once t he ice has f ormed, all you need t o do is t o knock t he
t ray against a hard surf ace so t hat t he ice cubes come aw ay
f rom t heir housing and come out of t he same hole used t o
f ill t he t ray w it h w at er. To make it easier f or t he ice cubes t o
come out , w et t he out side of t he t ray.
WARNING: every t ime you f ill up t he ice t ray w it h w at er ,
make sure t hat t he same is complet ely empt y and t hat t here
are no t races of ice lef t inside it .
Th e m i n i m u m t i m e req u i red f o r i ce t o f o r m w el l i s
approximat ely 8 hours.

How t o use t he f reezer compart ment ...
- For t he preparat ion of f ood t o be f rozen, please con-
sult a specialized manual.
- Food t hat has been t haw ed, even part ially, must not be re-
f rozen: you must cook it in order t o consume it (w it hin 24
hours) or t o f reeze it once again.
- Fresh f oods t hat you int end t o f reeze must not be placed
in cont act w it h t hose t hat are already f rozen or t hose t hat
have been f ast -f rozen. Rat her, t hey must be placed on t he
grid in t he f reezer compart ment , in cont act w it h t he w alls
of t he compart ment (back or side) if possible. Please keep in
mind t hat proper conservat ion of f rozen f oods depends on
t he speed w it h w hich t hey are f rozen.
- During t he f reezing process, avoid opening t he door of t he
f reezer.
- The maximum daily quant it y of f ood t hat can be f rozen is
indicat ed on t he rat ing plat e locat ed t o t he lef t of t he veg-
et able crisper.
- In order t o f reeze and t hen t haw f oods opt imally, it is rec-
ommended t hat you divide f ood int o small port ions so t hat
t hey f reeze quickly and unif ormly. The packages should be
clearly marked w it h t he cont ent and t he dat e t hey w ere
f rozen.
- Do not open t he f reezer door in t he event of a pow er
f ailure or malf unct ion. This precaut ion w ill slow t he rise in
t emperat ure w it hin t he compart ment . If t he door is not
opened, f rozen and f ast -f rozen f oods w ill remain in t heir
current st at e f or approximat ely 9-14 hours.
- Do not place f ull bot t les in t he f reezer: t hey could easily
burst because all liquids increase in volume when they freeze.
- If t he ambient t emperat ure remains below 14°C f or an
ext ended period of t ime, t he t emperat ure needed f or ex-
t ended st orage of f ood in t he f reezer w ill not be reached,
result ing in reduced st orage lif e of t he f ood.
