7. Never clean or perf orm maint enance on t he appliance

8. Bef ore having your old ref rigerat or picked up f or disposal,
remove or make inoperable any locking devices t o prevent chil-
dren w ho might play in or around t he appliance f rom being
locked inside.
9. Bef ore calling f or service/assist ance in t he case of malf unc-
t ion, consult t he chapt er ent it led “ Is There a Problem? t o de-
t ermine w het her it is possible t o eliminat e t he problem. do not
t ry t o repair t he problem by t rying t o access t he int ernal com-
ponent s of t he appliance.
10. If damaged, t he pow er supply cord on t his appliance
must necessarily be replaced by our service cent re because
special t ools are required f or replacement .
11. Do not use elect ric appliances inside t he compart ment f or
f ood st orage, if t hese are not t hose recommended by t he
manuf act urer.
12. At t he end of t he f unct ional lif e of your appliance –
containing cyclopentane gas in the insulation foam and perhaps
gas R600a (isobut ane) in t he ref rigerat ion circuit – t he lat t er
should made saf e bef ore being sent t o t he dump.

1. This appliance must not be inst alled out doors - not even in
an area prot ect ed by a roof . It is ext remely dangerous t o leave
it exposed t o rain or st orms.
2. It must only be used by adult s and exclusively t o ref rigerat e
and f reeze f oodst uf f s, f ollow ing t he inst ruct ions f or use con-
t ained in t his manual.
3. Do not ever t ouch or handle t he appliance w it h bare f eet or
w it h w et hands or f eet .
4. It is highly recommended t hat you do not use ext ension
cords or mult iple socket adapt ers. If t he ref rigerat or is inst alled
bet w een cabinet s, make sure t hat t he cord is not bent or dan-
gerously pinched or compressed.
5. Never pull on t he cord or t he ref rigerat or t o remove t he
plug f rom t he w all socket - t his is very dangerous.
6. Never t ouch t he cooling component s w it hin t he appliance,
especially w it h w et hands because t his could result in injury.
Never put ice cubes just removed f rom t he f reezer int o your
mouth because they could stick to your mouth and cause burns.

Inst allat ion
To ensure t hat t he appliance operat es properly and t o
reduce energy consumpt ion, it is import ant t hat t he
appliance is inst alled correct ly.
Vent ilat ion
The compressor and condenser generat e heat and, t here-
f ore, need t o be vent ilat ed properly. Rooms w it h less t han
perf ect vent ilat ion are not very suit ed f or inst allat ion of t he
appliance. Theref ore, it should be inst alled in a room w it h
an opening (w indow or French w indow ) t hat provide t he
appropriat e amount of air re-circulat ion. It is also import ant
t hat t he room not be t oo humid.
Aw ay f rom Heat
This appliance should not be posit ioned in a place w here it is
direct ly exposed t o sunlight or direct ly next t o an iven/hob.
Elect rical Connect ion and Eart hing
Bef ore proceeding w it h t he elect rical connect ion, make sure
t hat t he volt age indicat ed on t he rat ing plat e, locat ed at t he
bot t om lef t near t he veget able crisper, corresponds t o t he
mains volt age in your home and t hat t he socket is f it t ed
w it h a st andard eart hing w ire in accordance w it h saf et y
st andards f or 46/90 syst ems. If t he socket is not f it t ed w it h
an eart hing w ire, t he manuf act urer w ill not be held liabilit y
f or any damages and or injuries arising out of t he use of t he
appliance. Do not use mult iple socket s or adapt ers.
Position the appliance in such a w ay that you can access
t he socket w here it is plugged in.
Insuff icient pow er?
The elect rical socket must be able t o handle t he maximum
pow er load of t he appliance, w hich is indicat ed on t he rat -
ing plat e locat ed at t he bot t om lef t next t o t he veget able
crisper.

Af t er t he appliance has been delivered, place it in t he vert i-
cal upright posit ion and w ait at least 3 hours bef ore insert -
ing t he plug int o t he socket in order t o ensure t hat it f unc-
t ions properly.
