draft ventilation is definitely the
most unobtrusive solution. The
design of Gaggenau downdraft
ventilation units is the per fect
match for cooktops from the
Vario 20 0 and 40 0 series. They
are also available with an ex
tendable swivel arm and sealing
flaps. All downdraft ventilation
units are configured with sepa
rate fan units for air ex traction
purposes.
Dr ying programme
With this function, the inside
of the Combi steam oven can
be dried with hot air. The dr ying
procedure takes about 20 min
utes and is recommended after
each steaming or cleaning pro
cedure.
Dynamic cold air distribution
A ventilator ensures an even
temperature distribution across
the whole cooling compar tment,
thus ensuring longer food stor
age times. With dynamic cold
air distribution with Multi Air
Flow, an additional air channel
in the door and additional vents
in the cooling compar tment en
sure faster and more constant
temperature distribution.

Eco
In this operating mode, all
energy dependent functions of
the oven are optimised to make
them especially energy saving.
For example, the light is switched
off or any available residual heat
is used for baking or roasting.
Electric grill
Independently controlled
heating elements: This enables
you to grill in the front section
while the rear section is used
for keeping warm. Both glow
bars can be folded up for clean
ing the lava stone container.
With the 400 series wire rack, the
heating elements are covered
so that smoke emissions are very
low since grease is prevented
from dripping onto the heating
elements.
Stainless steel container
with lava stones: With a per
forated base so that grease
can drip into the removable drip
tray. The stainless steel con
tainer and the grease drip tray
can be cleaned in the dish
washer. The lava stones need to
be changed when they become
heavily soiled.
Solid cast roaster: Practical
accessor y for grilling and
cooking on a smooth sur face,
e.g. shrimps, or vegetables.
Also just the thing for preparing
egg based dishes such as pan
cakes or crêpes.
Electric ignition
By pressing the knob, the flame
is ignited automatically. This
then needs to be held down
briefly until the thermoelement
reaches the temperature re
quired for a stable flame. It has
a thermoelectric safety pilot
to keep the gas flame burning
constantly. If the flame goes
out, the gas supply is interrupted
automatically.
Electronic boiling point
detection
This calibration enables the
electronic system to detect the
boiling point automatically.
This enables the same cooking
results to be achieved, regard
less of the altitude of the instal
lation location above sea level.
Electronic flame monitoring
If the flame is ex tinguished ac
cidentally, it is reignited imme
diately and should automatic
reigniting fail, the gas supply
for all burners is interrupted im
mediately: Ma ximum safety due
to the principle of ionisation.
Electronic temperature
control
Precise temperature control
prevents temperature peaks in
ovens which might impair cook
ing of delicate dishes. With
cooling appliances, precise tem
perature setting enables longer
storage times. Operation of all
settings and special functions is
via the keyboard, and the tem
perature is displayed digitally.
Energy consumption
The energy consumption of a
cooling appliance is determined
according to the German DIN
EN 153 standard, at 220 V/50 Hz.
The value for energy consump
tion per year is shown, as is the
value for energy consumption
for 10 0 litres of net volume per
day. The latter enables applian
ces of various sizes to be com
pared; deviations may occur
during ever yday operation.
Energy label
This is a Europe wide code for
the energy efficiency class
and provides information about
the energy consumption of ap
pli ances. The different classes
in dicate how economical a par
ticular appliance is compared
with the overall average. Par ti
cularly economical appliances
are graded as energy efficiency
classes A and B – or even A++
and A+ for cooling appliances
and freezers. For dishwashers,
there is a fur ther classifica
tion alongside the energy effi
ciency class – the so called
Euro label rating also the clean
ing efficiency and dr ying effi
ciency of different appliances.
All Gaggenau dishwashers bear
the A A A label. This is awarded
to appliances that are par ticular
ly energy efficient while deliver
ing exceptional cleaning and dr y
ing per formance.

Fan unit
Downdraft ventilation units and
ventilation hoods are operated
via a separate fan. Fan units can
be installed, depending on the
construction type, in kitchen
furniture, in another adjoining
room, in the cellar, loft or out
side (on a wall or roof). All func
tions are controlled via a cable,
as with an integrated fan.
Fast cooling
Similar in function and effect to
the fast freezing function. Auto
matic fast cooling generates the
ma ximum chilling power, there
by minimising the warming up
of items already stored in the
refrigerator when new items are
added. The appliance auto ma t
ically rever ts to the standard
mode.

The wide opening doors, which
open to a 115 degree angle, are
truly unique – the par ticularly
sturdy hinges make it possible.
The drawers and shelves are
already fully ex tendable at an
angle of 90 degrees.
Door panel

Designed to match the 200 series
ovens, a stainless steel or alu
minium backed full glass door
panel is available for all 81.5 cm
and 86.5 cm high dishwashers.
Dosage assist
Integrated into the top basket,
the dosage assist ensures that
detergent tablets are fully dis
solved in a controlled manner.
This is a prerequisite for en sur
ing the best possible clean ing
results. Tablets can no lon ger
fall between plates or into the
cutler y basket. What’s more, the
dosage chamber is positioned
in a way that prevents scraps of
food from dropping into it dur
ing loading. Yet another advan
tage: the jet spray no longer
directly hits the inner door and
the appliance is quieter.
Downdraft ventilation
An interesting and highly effec
tive alternative to classic ven
tilation hoods. Downdraft venti
lation is integrated directly into
the cooktop and it siphons
off cooking vapours right there
where they emerge. Even the
steam from tall pots is ef fec
tively removed if the lid is left.

Fast freezing
This ma ximum power setting is
for the quick freezing of unfrozen
items, while also preventing al
ready frozen items from warming
up when new items are added to
the compar tment. What’s more,
fast freezing has a beneficial im
pact on the durability and qual
ity of frozen food after thawing.
This setting ensures that the
cell structure of frozen food is
not damaged by the freezing
process, thereby preser ving the
food’s taste and freshness. The
appliance automatically rever ts
to the standard mode.
Fast ignition
Press the knob on the gas
cooktop, turn to the desired
setting and release – the elec
tronics immediately ignite the
flame and keep it burning with
out the user having to keep the
knob pressed.
Fixed inlet and outlet water
connection
When being fitted, the Combi
steam oven is connected direct
ly to the water inlet and outlet.
This means that fresh water is
always available for all cooking
tasks and that you don’t have to
fill and empty a water tank.
Flex Plus basket system
For greater versatility and con
venience when loading and
unloading. This system is par ti c
ularly flexible and can accom
modate plates with a diameter
of up to 33 cm. All dishwashers
with 6 programmes feature this
system as standard.
