tai n el ectroni c equi pment may not be
shi el ded agai nst the RF si gnal s from
your mobi l e phone.

Pacemakers
The H eal th Industry M anufacturers As-
soci ati on recommends that a mi ni mum
separati on of 2.5 cm be mai ntai ned 
betw een a handhel d mobi l e phone 
and a pacemaker to avoi d potenti al  
i nterference w i th the pacemaker. 
These recommendati ons are consi stent
w i th the i ndependent research by and
recommendati ons of Wi rel ess Tech-
nol ogy Research.

Persons w i th pacemakers:

- Shoul d al w ays keep the phone more

than 2.5 cm from thei r pacemaker
w hen the phone i s turned on.

- Shoul d not carry the phone i n a breast

pocket.

- Shoul d use the ear opposi te the pace-

maker to mi ni mi ze the potenti al  for 
i nterference.

- If you have any reason to suspect that

i nterference i s taki ng pl ace, turn your
phone off i mmedi atel y.

H earing aids
Some di gi tal  mobi l e phones may i nter-
fere w i th some heari ng ai ds. In the
event of such i nterference, you may
w ant to consul t your netw ork operator
or servi ce provi der or cal l  the customer
servi ce l i ne to di scuss al ternati ves. 

O ther medical devices

If you use any other personal  medi cal
devi ce, consul t the manufacturer of
your devi ce to determi ne i f i t i s 
adequatel y shi el ded from external  RF
si gnal s. Your physi ci an may be abl e to 
assi st you i n obtai ni ng thi s i nformati on.

i ti es w hen any regul ati ons posted i n
these areas i nstruct you to do so.

Potentially explosive atmospheres

Turn your phone off w hen i n any area
w i th a potenti al l y expl osi ve atmosphere
and obey al l  si gns and i nstructi ons.
Sparks i n such areas coul d cause an 
expl osi on or fi re resul ti ng i n bodi l y 
i nj ury or even death.

Areas w i th potenti al l y expl osi ve atmo-
sphere are often but not al w ays cl earl y
marked. They i ncl ude fuel l i ng areas
such as petrol  stati ons, bel ow  deck on
boats, fuel  or chemi cal  transfer or stor-
age faci l i ti es, vehi cl es usi ng l i quefi ed
petrol eum gas (such as propane or bu-
tane), areas w here the ai r contai ns 
chemi cal s or parti cl es, such as grai n,
dust, or metal  pow ders, and any other
area w here you w oul d normal l y be 
advi sed to turn off your vehi cl e engi ne.
