soci ati on recommends that a mi ni mum
separati on of 2.5 cm be mai ntai ned
betw een a handhel d mobi l e phone
and a pacemaker to avoi d potenti al
i nterference w i th the pacemaker.
These recommendati ons are consi stent
w i th the i ndependent research by and
recommendati ons of Wi rel ess Tech-
nol ogy Research.
Persons w i th pacemakers:
- Shoul d al w ays keep the phone more
than 2.5 cm from thei r pacemaker
w hen the phone i s turned on.
- Shoul d not carry the phone i n a breast
pocket.
- Shoul d use the ear opposi te the pace-
maker to mi ni mi ze the potenti al for
i nterference.
- If you have any reason to suspect that
i nterference i s taki ng pl ace, turn your
phone off i mmedi atel y.
H earing aids
Some di gi tal mobi l e phones may i nter-
fere w i th some heari ng ai ds. In the
event of such i nterference, you may
w ant to consul t your netw ork operator
or servi ce provi der or cal l the customer
servi ce l i ne to di scuss al ternati ves.
