5.4. Measuring procedure

After the cuff  has been appropriately positioned the measurement can begin:

a) Switch on the instrument by pressing the 

 («O/I+Memory button») and wait until «0» appears in the display and the arrow 

«   » starts to fl ash.
b) Take the pump ball in your free hand (the arm you are not measuring from) and pump up the cuff . Watch the pressure indication 
in the display and pump approx. 40 mmHg higher than the expected systolic value (the upper value). 
If you do not know the value of this pressure, infl ate to a value of approximately 160-180 mmHg or stop pumping 
when the upward arrow  «   »  terminates fl ashing. 
The cuff  pressure is shown continuously on the LCD.
c) After pumping, the measurement is taken automatically. 
Relax, do not move and do not tense your arm muscles until the measurement result is displayed. Breathe normally and do not 
talk. 
d) During the measurement, the heart symbol fl ashes in the display and a beep sounds every time a heartbeat
is detected. 
e) The appearance of the symbol 

 signifi es that an irregular heartbeat was detected.

This indicator is only a caution. It is important that you be relaxed, remain still and do not talk during measurements. 

 NOTE: 

We recommend contacting your physician if you see this indicator frequently.

f ) The result, comprising the systolic and the diastolic blood pressure and the pulse is displayed and longer beep is heard.  

The cuff  pressure can now be quickly released by pressing the release valve at the pump ball.

5.5. Infl ating further

If the cuff  is not infl ated suffi  ciently, the measurement is broken off  after a few seconds and a fl ashing  pointing  upwards  arrow  «   »  appears in the display.
It is then necessary to infl ate further to at least 20 mmHg higher than the previous value.
The instruction to infl ate further can appear several times if the pressure is still not suffi  cient 

Attention! 

If the cuff  is infl ated too far (over 300 mmHg), «HI» appears in the display and a warning signal is sounded. The cuff  pressure must then be immediately released 
using the quick-release valve (at the pump ball)!
