Pull the plug out of the socket before making any 
adjustments, changing tools, carrying out 
maintenance or cleaning.

4.2

Special safety instructions for cordless 

machines:

Avoid inadvertent starts by making sure that the 
machine is switched off before fitting the battery 
pack.
Remove the battery pack from the machine before 
making any adjustments, changing tools, 
maintaining or cleaning.

Protect battery packs from water and 
moisture!

Do not expose battery packs to fire!

Do not use faulty or deformed battery packs!
Do not open battery packs!
Do not touch contacts or short-circuit battery packs!

A slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak 
from defective Li-ion battery packs! 

If battery fluid leaks out and comes into 
contact with your skin, rinse immediately 
with plenty of water. If battery fluid leaks out 

and comes into contact with your eyes, wash them 
with clean water and seek medical attention 
immediately!
LED lights (9): Do not observe the LED radiation 
directly with optical instruments.

6.1

Assembly of the side handle (2)

For safety reasons, always use the additional 
handle supplied.

- Open the clamping ring by turning the side handle 

(2) counter-clockwise. 

- Push the additional handle onto the collar of the 

machine. 

- Only for BE 600/13-2: Advance the side handle 

until it can be twisted. Then pull it back into 
position at the required angle.

- Tighten the side handle pulling firmly. 

6.2

For mains powered machines only

Before plugging in, check that the rated mains 
voltage and mains frequency, as stated on the 

type plate match your power supply.

Always install an RCD with a maximum trip 
current of 30 mA upstream.

6.3

For cordless machines only

Battery pack

Charge the battery pack (12) before use.
If performance diminishes, recharge the battery 
pack.
The ideal storage temperature is between 10°C and 
30°C.
Li-Ion battery packs "Li-Power" have a capacity and 
signal indicator (13):
- Press the button (14), the LEDs indicate the 

charge level.

- If one LED is flashing, the battery pack is almost 

flat and must be recharged.

Removing and inserting the battery pack

Removal: Press the battery pack release button 
(10) and pull the battery pack (12) forwards.
To insert: Slide the battery pack (12) in until it 
engages.

Installation of belt hook

Attach the belt hook (11) as shown.

7.1

Setting the direction of rotation, 

engaging the transporting safety device 

(switch-on lock)

Only activate the rotation selector switch (4) 
when the motor has completely stopped.

= Central position: transportation lock setting

Select the gear (depending on features)

Select the required gear by rotating the thumb 
wheel (3).
Change speed only when the machine is in the 
process of running down 
(briefly switch On and Off).

1. st gear (low speed, high torque) e.g. for 
screwdriving, drilling
