Always leave the hose connected to the appliance during the ilter-cleaning process to prevent 

dust from coming out of the appliance.

 Press the cover release button (1) and open  the cover (2) (Fig. 34).

 Turn the ilter-cleaning handle until it has made 6 full circles (Fig. 35).

 Close the cover irmly (‘click’).

reminder to clean the ilter cylinder

You have to clean the ilter cylinder by turning the ilter-cleaning handle after each vacuuming 

session. This prevents the ilter cylinder from clogging and helps maintain optimal suction power.

If you fail to clean the ilter cylinder with the ilter-cleaning handle a number of vacuuming sessions 

in a row:

 - the ilter-cleaning reminder light lashes for 15 seconds (types without display) (Fig. 27).

 - the ilter-cleaning reminder symbol on the display lashes for 15 seconds (types with 

display).  (Fig. 26)

Cleaning and maintenance

Use the ilter-cleaning handle to clean the ilter cylinder after every vacuuming session.

Cleaning the dust bucket and ilter cylinder unit

Always unplug the appliance before you empty the dust bucket.

The dust bucket is not dishwasher-proof.

Empty the dust bucket as soon as the dust level has reached the round disc of the ilter cylinder 

case.

 Switch off the appliance and remove the mains plug from the wall socket.

 To disconnect the hose, press the release button (1) and pull the hose out of the appliance 

(2) (Fig. 12).

 To unlock the cover, press the cover release button (1). Swing open the cover (2).  (Fig. 36)

 Lift the dust bucket out of the appliance (Fig. 37).

  5 

 Press the release button for the ilter cylinder unit on the bucket handle (1) and remove the 

ilter cylinder unit (2) (Fig. 38).

 Hold the dust bucket over a dustbin and empty it (Fig. 39).

  7 

 Clean the dust bucket with cold tap water and some washing-up liquid.

 If you want to clean the ilter cylinder unit, remove the ilter cylinder from the ilter cylinder 

case. Hold the ilter cylinder case with one hand. Grab the top of the ilter cylinder (not the 

handle) with the other hand and turn it anticlockwise (1). Then lift the ilter cylinder out of 

the case (2) (Fig. 40).

 To clean the ilter cylinder, gently tap it against the dustbin to release all ine dust from the 

ilter cylinder.  (Fig. 41)

If you persistently fail to turn the ilter-cleaning handle when the ilter-cleaning reminder light (for 

types without display) or the ilter-cleaning reminder symbol on the display (for appliance with 

display) lashes, the ilter cylinder clogs up with dir t and the suction power decreases over time.

If this happens, unclog the ilter cylinder in the following way:

 - Hold the ilter cylinder over a dustbin and clean it with the cleaning brush supplied. Gently 

brush from the top of the ilter downwards along the ribs of the ilter (Fig. 42).
