If you use your drive with both PCs and Macs, format your drive in e xFAT. While e xFAT offe rs cross-

e xFAT is not compatible or re comme nde d for built-in backup utilitie s such as File History (Windows) and
Time Machine (macOS). If you want to use one of the se backup utilitie s, you should format the drive in
