2191 makes two beeps sound and turn off VG-2 detection feature. If you 
press ‘CITY’ button for 3 seconds again, the CRUNCH 2191 makes one 
beep sound and turn on VG-2 detection feature. 
 

Memory confirmation 

It will automatically remember your last settings when the unit is turned 
off or removed from the power. All features selected are retained in the 
memory except MUTE. 
 
 

Troubleshooting

If the detector does not turn on: 
 

s

Make sure that the POWRE is in the ON position. 

s

Check the power cord or battery. Be sure all power connectors are 

properly installed. 

s

Check the fuse that controls power to the cigarette lighter socket. See 

your vehicles owner's manual 

s

The cigarette lighter socket might be dirty. Clean it with fine emery 

cloth to ensure a good, clean connection. 

s

Vehicle electrical problem exists. 

Caution

: Do not place any metal object other than the cigarette lighter 

or a cigarette lighter plug in the cigarette lighter socket. Doing so could 
blow a fuse in your vehicle or cause the metal object to become very 
hot. 

If the detector gives a false alert when the vehicle hits or bumps: 
 

s

Check the vehicle's electrical system including main battery cable and 

alternator connections. 

s

Install a filter capacitor (470uF.25volts) on the back of the cigarette 

lighter socket, across the power connections. 

If the receiving signals are weak: 

s

Check the angle of detector. 

s

Point to the horizon. 

s

Radar antenna / laser sensor is obstructed. 

s

Relocate the detector clear of any obstruction outside 

the windshield, such as a wiper blade (see mounting manual).
