troubleshooting 

This chapter summarises the most common problems you could encounter with the appliance. If 
you are unable to solve the problem with the information below, contact the Customer Care 
Centre in your countr y. 

  1 

 The light in the Filter-Clean button lashes.

The ilter cylinder needs to be cleaned. Press the Filter-Clean button to clean the ilter cylinder.

 The appliance cannot be switched on and the suction power lights lash.

The ilter cylinder case with the ilter cylinder in it has not been inser ted into the dust bucket. 

Inser t the ilter cylinder case with the ilter cylinder. 

 The suction power is insuficient.

Perhaps you have selected a low suction power setting. Select a higher suction power setting.

Perhaps the ilter cylinder is illed with dir t. If necessar y, clean this ilter.

Perhaps the motor protection ilter and/or the Super Clean Air HEPA 12 or Ultra Clean Air 

HEPA 13 ilter are dir ty. Clean or replace the ilters.

Check if the nozzle or the hose is blocked up. To remove the obstruction, disconnect the 
blocked-up item and connect it (as far as possible) the other way around. Switch on the vacuum 
cleaner to force the air through the blocked-up item in opposite direction (Fig. 40)

 The infrared remote control (speciic types only) does not function. 

Perhaps the batteries have not been inser ted properly or are empty. Inser t the batteries 
properly or replace them.
Remove the lid of the batter y compar tment (1) and inser t two new AAA 1.5-volt batteries (2). 
Make sure that the - and + poles point in the right direction. Reattach the lid of the batter y 
compar tment (3) (Fig. 14).
