Descaling

Regular descaling will prolong the life of the appliance and will guarantee optimal brewing results for 

a long time.

In case of normal use (two full jugs of coffee ever y day), descale the coffee maker :

 -

once ever y month if you are using hard water ;

 - once ever y 4 months if you are using soft water.

Turn to your local water board for information about the water hardness in your area.

 Fill the water tank half full with water and a liquid descaler according to the instructions on 

the package of the descaler. Do not use a powder descaler!

You can also use white vinegar (4% acetic acid).

 Let the appliance complete two brewing cycles. 

 3 

 Let the appliance complete two more brewing cycles with fresh, cold water to remove all 

liquid descaler or vinegar residues.

 Clean the separate parts (see chapter ‘Cleaning’).

Do not throw the appliance away with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but 

hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this you will help to preserve 

the environment (Fig. 20).
