MPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always
be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to perM
sons, including the following:

1. Read all instructions.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3.  To  project  against  electric  shock,  do  not  place  cord,  plug,  or  coffee
maker in water or other liquid.

4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.

5. Unplug from outlet when coffee maker is not in use and before cleanM
ing. Allow cooling before putting on or taking off parts and before cleanM
ing the coffee maker.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.

7.  Return  the  appliance  to  an  authorized  service  facility  for  examination,
repair, or adjustment.

8.  The  use  of  an  accessory  not  evaluated  for  use  with  this  coffee  maker
may cause injuries.

9. Do not use outdoors.

10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

11. Do not use coffee maker for other than intended use.

12. Keep lid on carafe while serving coffee and brewing.

13.  This  carafe  is  designed  for  use  with  this  coffee  maker  only.  It  must
never be used on a range top.

14. Do not set a hot carafe on wet or cold surface.

15. Do   not use   a   cracked   carafe   having   a   loose   or weakened handle.

16.  Do  not  clean  coffee  maker  with  abrasive  cleansers,  steel  wool  pads,
or other abrasive material.

17. Allow filter basket to cool before removing it from coffee maker.

18.  DO  NOT  POUR  LIQUID  OTHER  THAN  WATER  AND  THE  CLEANING
SOLUTION  SPECIFIED  IN  THIS  MANUAL  INTO  THE  WATER  RESERVOIR.
