    8.2.  CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FILTERS 

ACTIVE CARBON FILTERS (FCA) (Optional according to version, for hoods in Filter mode)

Recirculation or recycling of air extracted by a fume extractor hood is done through special active carbon filters. 
Its function is to purify the contaminated air:

This mode should only be used if it is not possible to install a fume conduit leading outside the kitchen or if an 
outlet causes noise or smell disturbance. The mode can also be used for ecological purposes, to avoid emitting 
pollutant gases into the  atmosphere.

The incorporation of carbon filters will mean losing airflow in the hood and increasing noise levels, as the air is 
filtered  through  metal  filters  and  the  carbon  filters.  The  fumes  and  smells  are  captured  and  recycled  mostly 
directly, but  there may  be  some  fumes  and  above  all  some  smell  particles  that  the  hood  needs  more  time  in 
operation to recycle, therefore it is always recommended to turn on the hood a few minutes before cooking and 
when you finish cooking, always leave it on until all the air in the kitchen has been recycled.

Removal and replacement of the activated carbon filter must always be done with the hood disconnected from 
the  power  supply  completely  off,  since  according  to  model  and version must  be manipulated  inside  the  body 
of the hood. See manual assembly and installation in the bag attached documentation hood.

It is recommended to change the carbon filters every 120 hours of use or 4 months (Average daily use 1h) It 
is  important to keep the metal filters clean and in perfect  state, this will avoid shortening the life of the carbon 
filters, because they would end up getting soaked with grease particles that would block the surface fibres   of 
the filter.

Active carbon filters (FCA) are not washable, nor can they be regenerated, once they have reached 
the end of their service life they must be replaced by new units.

EXAMPLES OF FITTING AND REPLACING ACCORDING TO VERSION:

1. 

ROUND  FCA  FILTERS. 

Fitted  threaded  into  the  sides  of  the  motor,  using  one  quarter  of  a  turn 

clockwise. It is recommended to replace them every 2 months
