Before  ironing  an  item  of  clothing,  always

check  the  symbols  on  its  label,  for  the

instructions provided by the manufacturer. 

Select the desired program based on the type

of  fabric  to  be  ironed,  by  turning  the  dial  on

the appliance (4-5-6). 

for the XT110C - XT100C models

Silk ( ) dry iron for silk, acetate, acrylic, velvet,

nylon, viscose and polyester garments.

Woo l  (

) for  wool  garments  and  delicate

fabrics.

Universal  (

) ideal  for  ironing  any  kind  of

ironable fabric.

Cotton (

) for cotton garments and jeans.

Linen (

) for linen garments.

Turbo for  easy  ironing  of  heavier  fabrics  (see

section 7).

for model XT90C

Eco 

For  ironing  all  fabrics  optimizing  con-

sumption and performance (see section 6).

Universal  (

for the XM82C - XM80C - XM80R models

Once  the  program  has  been  selected,  the  in-

dicator light on the iron will light up yellow, to

show the appliance is heating up.

Wait  until  the  indicator  light  turns  to  a  con-

stant blue. 

Press the button (8) to start the steam coming

out of the holes on the plate. Start ironing the

garments. Releasing the button, the flow stops. 

3. OPERATING THE STEAM PULSE

The  STEAM  PULSE  function  (intermittent

steam) can be activated for an easy and quick

iron,  by  double-clicking  on  the  steam  button

(8). The intermittent steam penetrates further

into the fabric, speeding up and improving the

ironing.  In  this  mode,  the  iron  will  begin

alternating  between  emitting  steam  and  one

second of not emitting steam.

To  deactivate  this  function,  press  the  steam

button again. 

To  reactivate,  repeat  the  procedure  from  the

beginning.

For  vertical  ironing,  we  recommend  use  of

the Steam Pulse function.

4. VERTICAL IRONING

It  is  possible  to  use  the  iron  vertically  to

remove creases from fabrics and/or to freshen

up  the  fibres,  eliminating  possible  residual

odours.

Hold the iron vertically, push the steam button

(8)  and  touch  the  fabric  slightly  with  the

soleplate, if the type of fabrics allows it.

5. DRY IRONING OR IRONING

SYNTHETIC GARMENTS 

Turn  the  dial  to  the  SILK  program  (only  for

model XT90C turn the dial to the UNIVERSAL

program).

Wait  until  the  indicator  light  turns  to  a  con-

stant blue.

Continue  with  the  ironing  without  pressing

the steam button on the iron (8).

6. ECO PROGRAM 

only for model XT90C 

With the ECO program  Polti La  Vaporella au-

tomatically  sets  the  steam  pressure  and  the

iron  temperature  for  significant  energy  sa-

vings  and  at  the  same  time  ensures  excellent

performance  for  ironing  all  fabrics,  including

the  most  resistant  ones  (cotton  /  jeans  /  li-

nen).

To activate this function simply turn the knob

to the Eco symbol

.

Divide the laundry according to the symbols

on  the  garment  labels  or    according  to  the

kind  of  fabric.  Always  start  ironing  with  the

garments  that  require  the  lowest  tempera-

ture,  in  order  to  reduce  the  waiting  times

and avoid the risk of burning the fabrics.

With  the  Universal  program  you  can  iron  all

fabric  types  without  adjusting  the  iron  and

steam temperatures.

When first using the steam, there may be so-

me  drops  of  water  leaking  out  of  the  plate,

this is due to thermal stabilization. It is recom-

mended that the first jets of steam are not di-

rected onto the fabric that needs ironing.

WARNING: Do not leave the hot iron on any

surf ace.  Polti  La  Vaporella comes  with  a

remov able  iron  rest  mat  (9)  with  non-slip

pads  designed  to  resist  high  temperatures.

Do not position the iron on the base without

the rest mat (10).
