The bat t ery is dead or nearly dead

Slow flashing:
• The battery is nearly dead.
Fast flashing:
• The battery is dead (p. 14).
• The battery is completely dead, and

cannot be recharged.

Depending on conditions, the

indicator may flash, even if there are
5 to 10 minutes remaining.

Slow flashing:
• The tape is near the end.
• No tape is inserted (p. 21).*
• The write-protect tab on the

cassette is out (red) (p. 21).*

Fast flashing:
• The tape has run out (p. 21, 34).*

The video heads are dirt y

Slow flashing:
• You need to clean the heads using the Sony V8-25CLD

cleaning cassette (not supplied) (p. 101).
