authorized service center from the con-
tact address list given in the warranty cer-
tificate and on the website www.vitek.ru.
•
For environmental protection do not dis-
card the unit with usual household waste
after its service life expiration; apply to a
specialized center for further recycling.
•
Before taking the iron away, unplug it, let
the unit cool down completely and pour
the remaining water out.
•
Keep the unit out of reach of children and
disabled persons.
THIS UNIT IS INTENDED FOR HOUSEHOLD
USAGE ONLY
IRONING WITHOUT AN IRONING BOARD
You do not always have an ironing board at
hand when travelling. In such a case it is
enough to place a twice-folded terry towel on
an even surface. Make sure that the surface
is heat and water resistant. Do not use glass
or plastic surfaces.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
After unit transportation or storage under
cold (winter) conditions, it is necessary
to keep it for at least 3 hours at room
temperature before switching on.
•
Unpack the iron; remove the protection (if
any) from the iron soleplate (9).
•
Wipe the iron soleplate with a clean dry
cloth.
•
Before plugging the iron in, set the AC
voltage selector (8) according to the
mains voltage. After using the iron at the
mains voltage of 110 V always set the AC
voltage selector (8) to the 220 V position,
this will prevent the iron from damage if
it is connected to the mains with higher
voltage (fig. 1).
•
There may be water residue in the tank,
this is normal, as the iron has undergone
factory quality control.
FILLING THE WATER TANK
Before filling the tank with water make sure
that the unit is unplugged.
•
Lift the handle (1) and it will be fixed.
To move the handle (1) down, press the
PUSH button (7) first.
•
Set the temperature control knob (11)
to the “
•
” position and the continuous
steam supply handle (12) to the “ ”
position (steam supply is off).
•
Open the water inlet lid (3).
•
Do not pull on the lid too much, a small
effort will be enough.
•
Use the beaker (13) to fill the unit with
water, then close the lid (3) tight.
Note:
•
Steam supply is impossible if the water
tank is empty.
•
If you need to refill water during ironing,
switch off and unplug the iron.
•
Do not fill the water tank with scented liq-
uids, vinegar, starch solution, descaling
reagents, chemicals, etc.
•
After you finish ironing, switch the iron
off, wait until it cools down completely,
then open the water inlet lid (3), turn
over the iron and drain the remaining
water.
IRONING TEMPERATURE
Before operation, test the heated iron on a
piece of cloth to be sure that the iron sole-
plate (9) and the water tank (4) are clean.
•
Always check the recommended ironing
temperature indicated on the tag before
ironing.
•
If there is no tag with recommendations
for ironing, but you know the type of fab-
ric, use the following table to determine
the proper temperature.
Icons
Fabric type (temperature)
•
Synthetics, nylon, acrylic, poly-
ester (low temperature)
••
Silk/wool
(medium temperature)
•••
Cotton (high temperature)
MAX
Linen (high temperature)
•
This table is only valid for smooth mate-
rials. Fabrics of other types (crimped,
raised, etc.) are best ironed at low tem-
perature.
•
First sort items by ironing temperature:
synthetics to synthetics, wool to wool,
cotton to cotton etc.
