Safety caution
•
This UPS utilizes voltage that may be hazardous. Do not attem pt
to disassem ble the unit. The unit contains no user replaceable
parts. Only factory service personnel m ay perform repairs.
•
This pluggable type A equipm ent with battery already installed by
the supplier is operator installable and m ay be operated by
laym en.
•
The m ains socket outlet that supplies the UPS shall be installed
near the UPS and shall be easily accessible.
•
During the installation of this equipm ent it should be assured that
the sum of the leakage currents of the UPS and the connected
loads does not exceed 3.5m A.
•
Connection to any other type of receptacle other than a t wo-pole,
three-wire grounded receptacle m ay result in shock hazard as
well as violate local electrical codes.
•
In the event of an em ergency, press the "OFF" button and
disconnect the power cord from the AC power supply to properly
disable the UPS.
•
Do not allow any liquids or any f oreign object to enter the UPS.
•
Do not place beverages or any other liquid -containing vessels on
or near the unit.
•
This unit intended for installation in a controlled environm ent
(tem perature controlled, indoor area free of cond uctive
contam inants). Avoid installing the UPS in locations where there
is standing or running water, or excessive hum idity.
•
Do not plug the UPS input into it s own out put.
•
Do not attach a power strip or surge suppressor to the UPS.
•
Do not attach non -com puter-related item s, such as m edical
equipm ent, life-support equipm ent, m icrowave ovens, or vacuum
cleaners to UPS.
•
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they m ay explode.
•
Internal battery voltage is 12VDC.Sealed, lead -acid, 6-cell battery.
•
A battery can present a risk of electrical shock and high short
circuit current. The following precautions should be observed
when working on batteries:
1) Rem ove watches, rings, or ot her m etal objects from the hands.
2) Use tools with insulated handles.
3) W ear rubber gloves and boot s.
4) Do not lay tools or m etal parts on top of batteries.
5) Disconnect charging source prior to connecting or
disconnecting batteries term inal.
•
Servicing of batteries should be perform ed or supervised by
personnel knowledgeable of bat teries and the required
precautions. Keep unauthorized personnel away from batteries.
•
W hen replacing batteries, replace with the sam e num ber and type
of sealed lead-acid battery.
•
Do not open or m utilate the battery or batteries. Release
electrolyte is harm ful to the skin and eyes. It m ay be toxic.
•
Attention, hazardous through electric shock. Also with dis -
connection of this unit from the m ains, hazardous voltage still may
be accessible through supply from battery. The battery supply
should be therefore disconnec ted in the plus and m inus pole at
the connectors of the battery when m aintenance or service work
inside the UPS is necessary.
•
To reduce the risk of overheating the UPS, do not cover the UPS'
cooling vents and avoid exposing the unit to direct sunlight or
installing the unit near heat em itting appliances such as space
heater or furnaces.
•
Unplug the UPS prior to cleaning and do not use liquid or spray
detergent.
