Check if the grill plates are fixed firmly on 

its surface and if the fixing clip is in 

locking position. 

•

Keep out of reach of children. Do not 

leave unattended while turned on. 

•

Always unplug: 

•

Before storing or taking off the grill 

plates, 

•

Before cleaning, 

•

After use. 

•

Always use certified lengthening cords. 

•

For indoor use only. 

•

To disconnect the plug pull the plug not 

the cord. 

•

Turn on after the grill plates have been 

fixed. 

•

Cool to room temperature before storing. 

•

Do not touch the grill plates with metal or 

other sharp objects. 

•

If the mains cord is damaged, you must 

have it replaced by Gorenje, a service 

centre authorised by Gorenje or similarly 

qualified persons in order to avoid a 

hazard. 

FIRST USE 

•

  Make sure the appliance was not damaged in 

transport. 

•

  Put the grill on a firm, dry hard base out of reach 

of children. High temperatures when plugged on!!! 

•

  Make sure: 

•

  The electrical voltage and frequency is suitable. 

Check the rating plate for reference. 

•

  The current is at least 10A. 

•

  The plug is suitable to the socket. 

•

  The plug is grounded. The manufacturer does not 

take any responsibility for misuse. 

•

  Before  first  use  leave  the  grill  in  the  position  for 

grilling for 10 minutes. Air the room if any unwanted 
smell. 

HOW TO USE YOUR CONTACT GRILL 

You can use your Gorenje KR 1800SDP / 
KR1800SM contact grill in three different ways. 
 

I. 

TOASTING POSITION 
 

Position the upper cooking plate into vertical 
position. Place toasts on the surface of the down 
plate and close the upper cooking plate on top of 
them. If used under the capacity of the surface, place 
them in the middle. While the toasting operation 
never presses on the upper handle downwards with 
force. 
 

II. 

BAKING POSITION 
 

You may also bake and grill on the surface of the 
contact grill position the upper cooking plate in 
vertical position on the upper level on lower plate. 
Place the food stuff in the tray and / or on the down 
plate. Close the upper cooking plate on top of the 
down plate. When you remove the tray use a piece 
of cloth.  
 

III.  OPEN GRILLING POSITION 

Open the uppe

r grill to up or 180° position. Place the 

food on the surface of the grill and leave it for grilling. 
When the food is grilled, turn them over to the other 
side. For this operation use wooden, plastic fork in 
order not to damage the coated grill surface. 

REMOVING THE GRILL PLATES 

•

  Unplug the appliance. 

•

  Wait for it to cool down to room temperature. 

•

  Completely open the grill as if you would want to 

perform the open grill cooking operation. 

•

  Push the fixing clip and remove the plate. 

PUTING THE GRILL PLATES IN WORK 
POSITION 

•

  Place the rear edge of the cooking plates on the 

appliance. 

•

  Lower the grill plate into its position and fix the clip 

in locking position. 

CLEANING 

Before cleaning cool the grill to room temperature. 
Remove the plates from the grill. 
Soak the plates in warm water and drain off the 
grease. 
Clean the plates with hot water or in the dishwasher. 
The outside of the appliance clean with a damp 
cloth. Do not use any aggressive cleaning materials.
