Pyrolytic self-

cleaning

When the py rolytic self-cleaning function is running, the 
oven heats up to  485 °C. Food remnants from roasting, 
grilling or baking are incinerated and all you have  to  do 
is wipe the ash out of the cooking compar tment.

Loose food residues, grease and meat juices may catch 
fire during py rolytic cleaning. Remove  coar se dir t from 
the cooking compar tment and from the accessories 
before ever y py rolytic cleaning cycle.

N ever let non-stick baking tray s and tins go through the 
py r o l y t i c   c l e a n i n g   c yc l e .   O n l y   e n a m e l l e d   a c c e s s o r i e s  
may be cleaned at the same time.

Remove  coar se soiling and food remainder s from 
the oven.

Clean the door seals manually,  the inside of the 
door and the glass pane because the py rolytic 
cleaning process does not clean these par ts.

Re m ove   a l l   l o o s e   i n te r i o r   p a r t s   f ro m   t h e   ove n  
i n te r i o r.   T h e   s l i d e - i n   r a c k s   a r e   py r o l y s i s - p r o o f .   T h e r e  
m u s t   b e   n o   o b j e c t s   l e f t   i n   t h e   i n te r i o r.

ove n   i n te r i o r.   C o n f i r m   w i t h

to  s t a r t .   T h e   c l e a n i n g   t i m e   e l a p s e s   o n   t h e  

display.  If the switch-of f time has been shif ted, the 
t i m e   u p   to   t h e   s t a r t   o f   py r o l y t i c   s e l f - c l e a n i n g  
elapses in the display.  The lamp in the oven interior 
s t ay s   o f f .

A   s i g n a l   s o u n d s   a f te r   3   h o u r s .   A   m e s s a g e   a p p e a r s   i n  
the display.  Once the appliance has cooled down, wipe 
the remaining ash out of the interior with a moist cloth.

N o te :  

Fo r   yo u r   s a fe t y,   t h e   ove n   d o o r   i s   l o c ke d .   W h e n  

cooling down, the door lock is released when the 
te mperature drops below 200°C.

Gaggenau baking tray s and grill tray s are coated with 
py r o l y s i s - p r o o f   e n a m e l .   To   a r r i ve   a t   a n   o p t i m u m   c l e a n i n g  
result, you are neve r theless advised to  remove  all 
accessories from the oven before the py rolytic cleaning 
p r o c e s s .   O n l y   t h i s   w i l l   e n s u r e   o p t i m u m   h e a t   d i s t r i b u t i o n .

If you would like to  remove  burnt-in residues from your 
baking tray  or your grill tray  with py rolytic self-cleaning, 
it is imperative that you obser ve  the following notes:

N o te s

–

Remove  extreme soiling, roast juice and food 
remainder s before py rolytic self-cleaning. Food 
remainder s, grease or roast juice can catch fire 
d u r i n g   py r o l y t i c   s e l f - c l e a n i n g .

O n l y   eve r   i n s e r t   o n e   b a k i n g   t r ay   o r   o n e   g r i l l   t r ay   i n  
the lowe st shelf in the oven.

Inser t the baking tray  or the grill tray  fully.

stone, core te mperature probe or other accessories
